Ride along with George and Rosetta

George and I embarked on our second cross country trip beginning 12 May 2016.

We stayed at Stone Mountain Georgia Campground in our house on wheels.

Our first stop was  Atlanta, Georgia to see our granddaughter Kenya McQueen graduate from Spelman College with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Japanese.

The Commencement Address was given by The Honorable Loretta E. Lynch. United States Attorney General. She also received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree.

Stevland Morris (AKA Stevie Wonder) was also in attendance and received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree. We were told that Oprah Winfrey was there but we did not see her. She came and left quietly. One of her girls from Africa graduated from Spelman.

We left Atlanta, Georgia and overnighted in Meridian, Mississippi and are now at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. Our next stop will be Aubrey, Texas. From there we go get our Christmas present.

Shady Creek RV Park, Aubrey, TX

We came to MCD to get our delayed Christmas present to ourselves.

We replaced the pleated shades throughout the camper with dual MCD shades.  We put black shades in the bedroom and cream color shades in the rest of the camper.  What a difference these shades makes filtering the sun with the black screen and totally blocks the sun with the solid shade down.  They also provide total privacy at night. We got to MCD Sunday 22 May 2016.  They measured the windows Monday and started production.  Tuesday the installer completed the job. We had a great experience with everyone we dealt with at MCD.

We visited South Fork Ranch where the TV series Dallas was partially filmed.  There is a great story about the house and the filming of Dallas.  We will not spoil it for those who have not visited the ranch.

The original cast on Dallas

JR's car (Lincoln Continental).  The car has a little over 25,800 miles on it.  This is one of the original cars used in the TV series Dallas.
Another interesting note:  There are no oil wells on this property.
